“Windows of Opportunity”
The reference photograph I took of Western Lake for this piece almost didn’t happen.   I was winding down my day and heading home.   Right at the entrance/exit of Grayton Beach State Park is this little gravel spot to pull off of for viewing.   I decided to take one more quick pitstop and so glad I did.  This giant palm frames the lake and the many layers peaking through.   As I stood under the canopy of those giant palms I couldn’t help but think of how it felt like I was in a little cabin looking out through a window.  Every layer I was looking at held its own magic.   I just stood there daydreaming about what it would be like to stand on that shore in the very back looking towards me and the tree.   Then what would it be like to walk through that marshy little island with those iconic trees reaching up so tall.  Which brought me to my spot, a pretty sweet spot I must say hanging out under the tree.  
Windows & Doors of opportunity.   That’s what kept going through my mind.   All of the different windows of opportunity we are given.   Some opportunities seem awesome but too far out of reach so we give up before we ever start.   Some opportunities seem glowy on the outside but marshy when you really dive in deep.  Then there are also those opportunities right in front of us, the “right here, right now”.  Accepting when a door closes and realizing when a door is opening is the first step.  Knowing when to walk through versus walk past is the next step.     Every decision we make in life lights up a new path for us forever changing our end story.  Pursuing life with an open heart and drive fueled by passion will ensure that every view from every window is of the dream you created.
 
The original piece was acrylic painted on an 11x14 canvas panel.
