“Light At The End Of The Tunnel”
The grand finale of my little hike through Grayton Beach State park took me through this windy sandy little path covered by a canopy of thick beach wood.  Some parts of this path are pretty dark from all of the foliage and although it is a short walk it contains its own magic.   You almost start to wonder about the other side.  How far is it?  Does it even exist? How long do I have to walk in darkness?  I do believe that is how a lot of life goes.   We have our own personal journeys to navigate through.   At some point during our journey we all go through those thoughts of, “Please God, tell me there is light at the end of the tunnel”.   As I walked and contemplated this; glimpses of light started to peak over head.  Not a lot of light but just enough to keep me going.  Just enough to make sure I didn’t give up.  Just like every storm the clouds, thunder, and lightning come first.   Then the rainbows.  Then the sun.   The funny thing about those big storms is that if we could take a little ship to the moon and look down at earth with that swirling storm focusing in on one specific area we could see the big picture.  We could then se the profound picture that the light is everywhere still.   The storm can’t drown out the light from above.  If we remain strong it cannot drown out the light from within either.   The storm will eventually blow over and the light that was there before will be there after.  After most storms the best part is that the sun usually shines a little brighter and feels a little warmer. 
What I love about this piece is that it speaks without words.   We all have those moments in life where we are just trying to stay above water.  Hoping and praying that there is light at the end of our tunnel.   If I could portray a message through this piece it would be to remind you, me, us that there is ALWAYS light at the end of the tunnel…because the light is always there.   The storm cloud covering up the light is temporary.
